## Job Summary
**This announcement will be used to fill multiple permanent full time, part time and intermittent (on-call) vacancies, plus temporary positions when needed. The shifts may be afternoon/evening or rotating (day-evening).**
Anoka Metro Regional Treatment Center (AMRTC) has openings for compassionate people to support individuals with mental illness. Operated by the Minnesota Department of Human Services, AMRTC is an inpatient psychiatric hospital serving adults with mental illness in a large, campus-based setting. Located just north of the Twin Cities metro area, this modern facility offers person-centered adult mental health care in a pleasant environment enjoyed by patients and employees alike.
At AMRTC, our Mental Health Program Assistants support and mentor staff throughout the program in using appropriate evidence-based practices. They also collaborate with team members to develop and implement individual treatment plans based on the unique needs of each patient, along with serving as role models to promote mutual respect, independence, personal responsibility, and self-control.
Qualifications
## Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify, applicants must have all of the following:
Knowledge of:
* Behavior modification theory/techniques sufficient to implement behavior management components of treatment plans.
* Mental illness sufficient to design and implement individual treatment plans, identify and control aggressive/ violent/ inappropriate behavior.
* Therapeutic intervention techniques sufficient to control aggressive or violent behavior.
* Laws, rules, regulations and policies governing treatment of mental illness and vulnerable adults sufficient to protect the rights of clients/residents.
Ability to:
* Perform basic health care procedures, such as taking vital signs and administering medications.
* Observe, interpret and document client behaviors sufficient to provide information needed for evaluation and treatment planning.
* Read, write and speak English sufficient to interpret, implement and evaluate individual treatment plans for mentally ill.
* Interact with clients sufficient to assist in the delivery of group therapy, teach specialized and vocational skills, and teach recreation and life skills.
